Cortaderia selloana is an evergreen grass with an upright, clump forming habit. The leaves are narrow, pendulous, rough to the touch and medium green in colour. Cortaderia selloana flowers from August to October with decorative, silky, elongated, creamy white panicles. The plant likes a sunny spot and fertile, well-drained soil. This Pampas grass is fairly Hardy, but can certainly use some extra winter protection, especially when it is young. This decorative grass endures drought, sea wind and air pollution well and is practically pest and disease free.
