This colour distinguishes it most from the other grasses of its species. In autumn, the leaves turn a reddish-brown colour. From June to September, ‘Heavy Metal’ flowers with white to light pink panicles. The ornamental grass reaches a height of 125 to 150 cm, but it will take several years to reach this height. It looks good alone in a pot or in small groups, then it stands out a bit more. It is best to prune the plant back to 10 cm above the ground after the winter. Heavy Metal’ grows best in the full sun in soil that is not too wet.
