‘Ribes Easycrisp Lady Sun’ is a yellow gooseberry or also called gooseberry. The shrub grows to about 75 cm in height. The advantage of this shrub is that it has fewer prickles on the branches compared to other gooseberry species. This makes it easier to pick the fruits. The leaves are softly haired on the underside. The gooseberry blooms in April with inconspicuous greenish flowers which are attractive to bees and bumblebees. The fruits are medium-sized, round and yellow and can be picked around July and August. The berries are deliciously juicy and have a sweet taste. They are formed in clusters and are immediately edible. The shrub is resistant to frost so it will certainly survive the winter. In the winter it loses its leaves and that is also the right time to prune it. It prefers open, sunny and not too damp soil. Gooseberries need support when growing. It is therefore advisable to tie the stems along a climbing frame or mesh.
