Pyracantha coccinea ‘Soleil dOr’
A well-known shrub that is usually used as an espalier against a wall. The small leaves are shiny, dark green and the branches bear long spines. This makes the Pyracantha a favourite base for all kinds of birds. After the rich flowering the striking red berries appear, which are also eaten by birds. The plant is also suitable for use as a hedge because it stays green in the winter. Eventually Pyracantha can grow to a height of 4 metres. With good pruning and training, you can get this fire maple in any desired shape. Even when you do not have green fingers!
