Lonicera henryi’ is a Leaves stay during the winter on the plant evergreen honeysuckle. Unlike most other honeysuckles, ‘Lonicera henryi’ remains green in mild winters. It is a climbing plant with five-part, striking orange-pink flowers and large green leaves. It is also known for the sweet scent it gives off, especially in the evenings. To make the plant climb better, it is best to give it a little help and let it climb up along a rack. Honeysuckle is easy to care for and can be placed anywhere. It will also grow well in the shade or half-shadow, but it will not flower as abundantly. Make sure you prune your Lonicera regularly to keep it fresh and compact. If you do not do this, the plant will grow about 4 metres tall. Prune the plant in mid-March by cutting back branches that are too long and old. You will be rewarded with many young branches and an abundance of flowers. After flowering, it is also possible to cut back very long branches, to give the plant a more tidy appearance. Loniceras are enormously popular with moths such as the gamma owl and the hummingbird butterfly, but bees also know how to find this wonderfully smelling climbing plant. A real asset for nature in your garden!
