Pennisetum x advena ‘Fireworks’
Pennisetum setaceum ‘Fireworks’, is an ornamental grass with upright growth and narrow leaves. The ‘Fireworks’ will grow to a maximum height of 80 cm. It is a beautiful ornamental grass with its green-red-purple striped leaf. From July onwards, the ‘Fireworks’ will flower with light pink panicles that remain on the plant until deep into the winter. This grass is hardy; the decorative plumes remain, but the leaves fall off. It remains a beautiful plant to look at in winter, too. After the winter, cut back to 10 cm above the ground. It prefers a warm place in the sun. Semi-shade is also possible, but the red-purple colour of the leaves is at its best when they receive a lot of sun.
