Rubus idaeus ‘Tulameen’

Tasty Green, 100% organically grown fruit. This means that only plant and animal materials have been used during cultivation. The pot and the label are made of recycled plastic and are therefore a clean solution for the environment.
‘Rubus Idaeus Tulameen’ is a summer raspberry and gives dark red fruits in July. This raspberry is self-pollinating and flowers in late spring with inconspicuous, small white-pink flowers that attract bees and bumblebees. After flowering, the raspberries develop. The fruits are fairly soft and bright red in colour and have a mild taste. They can be eaten straight from the bush, but raspberries can also be made into delicious jam and juice. Raspberries are often very expensive in the shops, so it is much more fun to grow them yourself! Rubus idaeus Tulameen’ is fairly widely used for commercial cultivation and is an improved version of the ‘Malling Promise’ variety. In summer raspberries, the first year only a branch is formed and the next year it will bear fruit. After the harvest, therefore, the branches that have borne fruit can be cut close to the ground. The young branches will flower the following year and then bear fruit. It is a strong grower and should, like every raspberry, be well guided and pruned for the best harvest and taste of the fruit.
