The leaves are narrow linear, medium to dark green, arching and arching, turning a golden yellow in autumn. Pennisetum alopecuroides &#8216;Hameln&#8217; flowers from July to September with greenish creamy white spikes that turn greyish brown later in the autumn. It prefers a position in full sun or half-shadow and a well-drained, moderately fertile soil that is not too heavy. This pennisetum is fairly hardy and drought-tolerant, and tolerates sea wind and air pollution well.
