This Deciduous reed has a bushy, upright form with very narrow linear mid-green leaves with a white centre stripe, which turn straw-coloured in autumn. Miscanthus sinensis &#8220;Gracillimus&#8221; flowers (sporadically) from August to October with copper-coloured flower spikes, which turn silver-white later in the season when the seed ripens. This beautiful reed prefers a sunny spot and a well-drained, slightly moist, moderately fertile soil. Miscanthus sinensis &#8220;Gracillimus&#8221; is Hardy and once established also drought tolerant.
